Lead Veterinary Surgeon – Liverpool – Up to £85,000 per year

A well-equipped, RCVS-accredited veterinary practice in Liverpool is seeking a Lead Veterinary Surgeon to join their supportive and progressive team. This is a full-time opportunity (4 days per week with 1 in 3 Saturdays) offering up to £85,000 per year, excellent benefits, and the chance to play a key role in shaping the future of the practice.

This role is ideal for a confident GP Veterinary Surgeon who enjoys leading by example, mentoring colleagues, and delivering exceptional clinical care. The successful candidate will be passionate about team development, clinical excellence, and building a positive, high-performing practice culture.

The Lead Veterinary Surgeon will work closely with the Branch Partner, supporting the clinical direction and long-term success of the practice. The Practice

The practice is well-equipped and soon to be refurbished, offering a modern clinical environment designed to support high-quality patient care. Facilities include:

• Digital X-ray
• Ultrasound
• Brand-new laparoscopy and dental suite
• Endoscopy
• ECG
• In-house laboratory

The practice also benefits from access to advanced imaging, surgery, and hospitalisation through a nearby 24-hour veterinary hospital, ensuring strong clinical support and case continuity.

Additional accreditations include:

• RCVS Accredited Practice
• Silver Standard Cat-Friendly Clinic Award from the International Society of Feline Medicine (ISFM)

The Role – Lead Veterinary Surgeon

Typically, the Lead Veterinary Surgeon will:

• Deliver exceptional clinical care to patients through consultations and surgery
• Develop tailored treatment plans in partnership with clients
• Provide clinical leadership and mentorship to veterinary colleagues
• Lead by example, promoting best practice and high clinical standards
• Work collaboratively within a supportive and experienced veterinary team
• Inspire colleagues through knowledge sharing and professional development
