Are you passionate about protecting the nation against natural threats and hazards? Are you keen to get stuck in to your national area? If so, this vacancy could be for you.
We’re looking for two highly skilled and motivated individuals. One to join the English Severn & Wye Regional Flood and Coastal Committee (RFCC) Team and one to join the Trent RFCC as a Lead Local Flood Authority Officer.
In this role you will:
Work closely with our partner organisations to support in the delivery of schemes that help to reduce flood risk and enhance the environment across the English Severn & Wye Catchment or Trent Catchment depending on location.
Support Risk Management Authorities in the writing and approval of business cases.
Assist Risk Management Authorities in building a robust pipeline of future projects.
Find opportunities for joint working / collaboration.
Gather and interpret data from a range of sources to review / report on project performance.
Assist Levy Advisors in identifying training needs, build knowledge and share information.
Help to guide Risk Management Authorities through Environment Agency process requirements and streamline them where possible.
Assist advisors to input into Regional Flood and Coastal Committee / Finance Sub Committee Meetings as required.

The team
The ESW RFCC and Trent RFCC Local Levy teams are funded to support Lead Local Flood Authorities in their delivery of projects and programmes across the catchments.
We work flexibly providing a variety of services depending on the specific needs of the LLFAs pushing for positive outcomes for people and environment.
We’re a dispersed team and work with a wide range of technical and project teams across the country.
Experience/skills required
The role requires an engaging and enthusiastic person with the ability to work with a wide range of teams and individuals. Experience of supporting development and delivery of high-quality projects and programmes on time and to budget is ideal.
Additionally, you should:
Have excellent stakeholder, partner and customer engagement skills
Background in Flood Risk (FCRM) or Environmental (WLB) management.
Previous involvement in project / programme management.
Be a clear and confident communicator, with the ability to develop and maintain good relationships with colleagues.
Experience of contributing to the writing of project proposals and business cases.
Ability to analyse and interpret data.
Be comfortable delivering high quality work to tight deadlines.
Be flexible, resourceful and be able to prioritise work to deliver the best outcomes.
Have a positive attitude and the ability to work independently to prioritise workloads.
