Crynodeb
We are seeking a caring, patient and proactive Personal Assistant to support a 13-year-old girl with a diagnosis of autism (with PDA profile), ADHD, moderate learning difficulties, a genetic chromosomal disorder, sensory processing differences and generalised anxiety. The PA will play a key role in supporting her to safely access the community and take part in activities she enjoys, while also encouraging positive socialisation opportunities and providing the family with much-needed respite. She can become highly anxious and dysregulated, particularly in loud or busy environments, and may wear ear defenders for sensory regulation. She may present with challenging behaviours when overwhelmed and has a history of running off or absconding, therefore close supervision and strong awareness of safety in the community are essential. She can be selectively mute at times and may choose to communicate through her teddy bears. She is independent with toileting but may require gentle encouragement and prompts around nutrition. The ideal PA will be calm, empathetic, flexible and able to build a trusting relationship, responding sensitively to her emotional and sensory needs while promoting independence, confidence and wellbeing.
