Are you a confident, hands-on retail supervisor who thrives in a busy, fast-moving environment?
Do you enjoy delivering excellent customer service while keeping operations running smoothly behind the scenes?
We are recruiting two Retail Supervisors to work across our Superstore and Donation Centre at Searle Crescent.
Our Superstore is one of Weston Hospicecare’s largest and most important income-generating shops. Alongside it, our busy Donation Centre plays a vital role in processing thousands of items every week. Together, they form a dynamic retail hub that directly funds local hospice care.
This is a varied and active role. You’ll spend time on the shop floor delivering outstanding customer service, as well as in the Donation Centre supporting donor experience, stock flow and efficient processing. No two days are the same.
What you’ll be doing:
- Delivering excellent customer and donor service across both the Superstore and Donation Centre.
- Creating a welcoming, professional environment where customers enjoy shopping and donors feel valued.
- Encouraging donations and Gift Aid sign-ups in a confident and engaging way.
- Supporting the smooth journey of stock from donation through to shop floor, ensuring items are processed efficiently and at pace.
- Working flexibly across shop floor and back of house — sorting, pricing, merchandising and replenishing.
- Leading volunteers during shifts, allocating tasks and providing guidance and support.
- Supporting the opening and closing of the store where required.
- Maintaining high standards of health and safety, particularly around manual handling and stock movement.
- Following all till, cash handling and security procedures.
What we’re looking for:
- Retail experience in a busy, customer-focused environment.
- Confidence supervising and motivating volunteers.
- A hands-on approach — comfortable working across both sales floor and processing areas.
- Strong organisation skills and the ability to prioritise in a fast-paced setting.
- A positive, resilient attitude and the ability to work at pace.
- Excellent communication skills and pride in maintaining high standards.
