Crynodeb
Education and Training Responsibilities Design and deliver highquality education sessions for students and maternity staff, aligned with current evidence and best practice. Facilitate local teaching, simulation training and multidisciplinary learning to support skill development and shared improvement. Support Practice Supervisors and Assessors with training, guidance and ongoing professional development. Collaborate closely with HEIs to ensure student learning requirements are met and to support assessment and progression. Involve students in governance activities, training sessions and service development opportunities. Student Support and Placement Coordination Provide accessible and responsive support to student midwives across all maternity placements. Maintain oversight of student offduty scheduling, ensuring appropriate supervision and continuity. Monitor placement capacity to ensure safe and effective learning environments. Review and analyse student feedback, identifying themes and escalating issues appropriately. Coordinate the allocation of Practice Supervisors and Assessors to ensure consistency and quality. Clinical and Professional Practice Maintain personal clinical competence and work clinically for at least two shifts per roster, acting as a positive role model. Promote and uphold patient safety initiatives and support implementation of national and local priorities. Facilitate practical clinical skills development, including obstetric emergency training in both hospital and community settings. Maintain compliance with NMC registration, professional codes and Trust policies. Leadership, Quality and Service Development Support the development, review and implementation of maternity guidelines, policies and training frameworks. Promote an inclusive and psychologically safe learning environment. Provide advice and support in challenging learning or performance situations. Contribute to quality improvement, clinical governance and service development activities. Information Management and Administrative Duties Maintain accurate and up to date student, supervision and training records. Use Trust information systems appropriately, ensuring compliance with confidentiality and data protection standards. Support ordering, storage and monitoring of training equipment.
