Our client, a leading educational institution in Hexham, Northumberland, is seeking a dedicated and experienced Full-time SEND Teaching Assistant to join their dynamic team. This is an exciting opportunity for a skilled professional who is committed to supporting the educational and personal development of children with special educational needs and disabilities (SEND).

In this role, you will be responsible for providing tailored support to SEND students, ensuring they receive the individualised attention and guidance they need to thrive. Your duties will include, but not be limited to, assisting with lesson planning, delivering one-on-one or small group sessions, and collaborating with teachers to implement effective strategies. The successful candidate will work closely with a multidisciplinary team, including teachers, therapists, and support staff, to create a nurturing and inclusive learning environment.

The ideal candidate will possess a strong understanding of SEND educational practices, as well as the ability to adapt their approach to meet the unique needs of each student. Experience in working with children with a range of learning difficulties, such as autism spectrum disorder, dyslexia, or behavioural challenges, would be highly beneficial. This position offers a competitive daily rate of £96.24 - £104.26, providing an excellent opportunity for professional growth and development. - Provide one-on-one or small group support to SEND students, tailoring your approach to meet their individual needs
- Assist with the implementation of personalised learning plans and educational strategies
- Collaborate with teachers to develop and deliver engaging and inclusive lessons
- Support the personal and social development of SEND students, promoting their independence and self-confidence
- Maintain detailed records of student progress and communicate effectively with parents/carers and the wider school community
- Participate in multidisciplinary team meetings and professional development opportunities to continuously enhance your skills and knowledge
- Relevant experience in a SEND Teaching Assistant or similar role
- Strong understanding of SEND educational practices and strategies
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work effectively with students, teachers, and parents/carers
- Patience, empathy, and a genuine commitment to supporting the educational and personal growth of SEND students
- Willingness to participate in ongoing training and professional development opportunities
- Relevant qualifications in education, special needs, or a related field would be an advantage
