Processing invoices and receipts through Dext for multiple clients.
Maintaining accurate bookkeeping records in Xero.
Reconciling bank accounts, credit cards, and merchant accounts.
Processing supplier invoices and customer receipts.
Posting journals and accruals as required.
Managing accounts payable and receivable.
Maintaining organized digital filing systems.
Ensuring compliance with client-specific procedures.
Preparing VAT returns.
Running month-end procedures for assigned clients.
Producing management reports and financial summaries.
Reviewing and resolving discrepancies or queries.
Liaising with clients regarding missing information or clarifications.
Supporting senior team members with client accounts.
Taking on urgent client work at short notice.
Assisting with overflow work from other team members.
Supporting new client onboarding processes.
Adapting to changing client requirements and deadlines.
Training
This Level 3 programme builds on the foundations for entry level talent to support growth within an Accountancy and Finance function. Employees on this apprenticeship will ensure an Accountancy and Finance practice performs in the most effective way. You will learn how to prepare financial statements for Sole Traders and Partnerships, the importance of management accounting information, and how to prepare VAT returns. You’ll develop the technical skills to start, or progress, your career in accountancy and this will allow you to continue with your studies onto Level 4.
To pass this level you will need to study the following four units:
Financial Accounting; Preparing Financial Statements (FAPS).
Management Accounting Techniques (MATS).
Tax Processes for Business (TPFB).
Business Awareness (BUAW).
Qualifications required
Level 2 AAT.
A Levels grade A-C.
GCSE's grades 9/A* - 5/C including Maths and English.
Skills required
Understanding of bookkeeping principles and double-entry bookkeeping.
Basic knowledge of VAT procedures.
Good understanding of Microsoft Excel/Google Sheets. (preferred)
Ability to reconcile bank accounts and credit cards. (preferred)
Understanding of accounts payable and receivable processes.
