What skills and experience we're looking for

Truro and Penwith Academy Trust, together with St Erth School, are seeking to appoint a highly efficient, warm and dedicated School Secretary to become the welcoming face of our school and the key engine behind our smooth daily operations.

This is a wonderful opportunity to work at the heart of a supportive, community‑driven primary school where relationships matter, children come first, and teamwork is everything.

· You’ll join a small, caring team who work closely together and support one another.

· You’ll build meaningful relationships with children, families and staff.

· Every day will bring variety, no two days are the same in our busy school office!

· You’ll play a vital role in ensuring the school runs efficiently, safely and warmly.

As our School Secretary, you will be the first point of contact for parents, visitors, staff and external agencies. You’ll keep the school office running like clockwork and support the Headteacher and wider team with a range of administrative and organisational tasks.

About You:

You will be approachable and child‑centred, with excellent interpersonal skills, bringing a calm, positive and “can‑do” attitude to a busy and varied school environment. Highly organised and efficient, you will be able to manage multiple tasks while communicating clearly and effectively in writing, through digital systems and face‑to‑face. Reliability and trustworthiness are essential, as you will always handle information with sensitivity. Competence in using IT systems, including email, Microsoft Office and school software (with training provided) is also an essential part of the role.
