Full-Time | Temporary with Temp-to-Perm Opportunity
£110-£130 per day (experience dependent)

We are seeking a dedicated and resilient Behaviour Mentor to join a specialist SEMH provision in Manchester, supporting secondary-aged pupils who require additional emotional and behavioural support to access education.

This role is ideal for someone who is passionate about helping young people overcome barriers, re-engage with learning, and build the confidence and skills needed for long-term success.

As a Behaviour Mentor, you will:
- Provide 1:1 and small-group support for pupils with Social, Emotional and Mental Health (SEMH) needs
- Build positive, consistent relationships with students who may display challenging behaviour
- Use calm, structured de-escalation strategies to manage conflict and support emotional regulation
- Work closely with teaching staff to adapt learning activities to meet individual needs
- Support pupils who may be at risk of exclusion or transitioning from alternative provision
- Encourage resilience, accountability, and positive decision-making
- Promote a safe, nurturing, and structured learning environment

You will play a key role in supporting pupils to develop trust, stability, and confidence in education.

The ideal candidate will:
- Have experience working with young people with SEMH needs or challenging behaviours
- Demonstrate strong behaviour management and de-escalation skills
- Be calm, patient, and confident under pressure
- Have experience in education, youth work, care, sports coaching, alternative provision, or similar roles
- Be resilient, proactive, and genuinely committed to supporting young people
- Be interested in a long-term opportunity with potential for permanent placement
- Supportive leadership team and collaborative staff culture
- Opportunities for ongoing CPD and behaviour-focused training
- A meaningful opportunity to transform the lives of young people
- Temp-to-perm pathway for the right candidate
- A setting where your impact is visible every day

The school is fully committed to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children and young people. All applicants will be required to undergo an Enhanced DBS check, provide satisfactory references, and demonstrate a clear understanding of safeguarding responsibilities.
