Talent Education are currently recruiting a dedicated SEMH Teaching Assistant to join a supportive primary school in Bury, working closely with pupils who require additional support with Social, Emotional and Mental Health (SEMH) needs.

This is a full-time opportunity starting giving you the chance to make a meaningful impact on pupils who benefit from consistent, patient and structured support.

As an SEMH Teaching Assistant, you will:

• Provide 1:1 and small group support to pupils with SEMH needs

• Support pupils to remain engaged with classroom learning and routines
• Work alongside the class teacher, SENCO and wider support team to implement individual support plans
• Encourage confidence, resilience and positive social interactions
• Help maintain a safe, calm and inclusive classroom environment

Your role will focus on helping pupils overcome barriers to learning and build the confidence they need to succeed.

We are looking for someone who:

• Has previous experience supporting children with SEMH or behavioural needs
• Has experience working as a Teaching Assistant in a primary school (desirable)
• Demonstrates a calm, patient and resilient approach
• Is confident building positive and trusting relationships with pupils
• Has strong communication and teamwork skills
• Experience with Read Write Inc. (RWI) or phonics support would be advantageous

• A dedicated consultant who understands your experience and career goals
• Opportunities to work in supportive and well-resourced schools
• Competitive rates of pay
• Ongoing guidance and support throughout your placement

If you are passionate about supporting pupils with SEMH needs and want to make a real difference in a primary school setting, we would love to hear from you.
