Crynodeb
Clinical duties: 1. Assessment (including assessment of risk), treatment and management of adults with mental health problems (functional and organic). 2. Treatment, using a sound knowledge of the evidence for pharmacological and non-pharmacological interventions, in accordance with NICE and relevant guidance. 3. Formulating psychiatric opinions about a bio-psycho-social care plan. 4. Full participation in the multidisciplinary team providing care in the community. 5. Review and monitoring of their caseload to ensure appropriate care packages are put in place and discharges facilitated to maintain patient flow. 6. Domiciliary visits to provide assessment and treatment services and in response to emergencies. 7. Contribution to care quality through quality improvement (QI) projects and relevant participation in local and Trust wide care quality processes. 8. Active involvement in teaching of undergraduate medical students. 9. Supervising the clinical work of the trainee and multidisciplinary colleagues. 10. Psychiatric assessments of residents who may be in crisis in another borough. 11. Close liaison with the wards to facilitate admission and discharge planning. 12. Liaison with HTT, Psychiatric Liaison Services, AMHP services and Forensic Services in and outside the borough. 13. Provide support to staff in the different applications of Mental Health Act and Mental Capacity Act. 14. Supporting the MDT team to provide the best clinical care for patients. 15. Accurate record keeping according to the Trusts and professional guidelines. 16. Supporting the Consultant Psychiatrists in chairing MDT, CPA, professionals and best interest meetings and preparing medical reports for MHA Tribunals/Managers Hearing.
