No previous experience is necessary, as we provide the training you will need to succeed in this role. We offer a bespoke full induction, support you through the care certificate and beyond, with mentors on the wards to help you reach your potential and deliver first class care to our patients.
This post is being advertised as a Band 3, however applicants that do not meet the required care certificate competencies will initially be employed as a Band 2. Applicants who hold a care certificate accreditation will start in post at Band 3.
Our HCSWs are invaluable to the trust and play an integral role in the wards and departmental teams. The role of a HCSW can be challenging but overall rewarding. Working alongside likeminded people, our teams are caring, compassionate and inclusive. We believe in “growing our own” and support progression pathways to staff nurse training applications.
Base Location: Poole Hospital

Currently there are part time / full time hours on offer. We are open 24 hours a day 7 days a week - therefore, we require everyone to be fully flexible across all shift patterns, including weekdays, weekends, nights and bank holidays.
We are currently looking to recruit to inpatient wards atPoole Hospital; this is a permanentposition on A4 - Arne ward, Respiratory Medicine within the Medical Specialities Directorate.
As part of the selection process you will be required to complete a numeracy and literacy assessment alongside an interview.
UHD are investing, developing and transforming Trust services in line with the New Hospital Programme. As part of this, some services may move site this year or next, either temporarily or permanently. Recruiting Managers will be happy to answer any service-specific questions at interview.
If a role or service relocates as part of a planned move, excess mileage will not be reimbursed. Travel from home to the new work base will be classed as a normal commute. Any other changes will be managed under Trust or national terms and conditions.
