We are seeking a Control of Contractors Coordinator to support the safe, compliant and efficient management of all subcontractor activities across site. This role will work within a matrix structure reporting into the Site Maintenance Managers, ensuring all works are managed through the client Work Authorisation and Permit to Work processes.
Job Description
We are looking for someone who will apply a proactive governance approach, ensuring all contractor information, risk controls and security escorting guidelines are consistently in place. The role also requires strong relationship-building with internal teams and subcontractor groups to promote a collaborative and continuous improvement culture.
Key Responsibilities
Manage contractor prequalification and review Risk Assessments and Method Statements.
Deliver contractor inductions and issue Work Authorisations and Permits to Work.
Plan and prioritise sub-contractor works with key stakeholders to ensure timely delivery.
Ensure all contractor health & safety documentation is proactively obtained and robustly reviewed.
Audit and inspect contractor activities to ensure compliance with procedures and legislation.
Report and investigate contractor non-conformances, driving corrective and preventative actions.
Produce compliance reports to support transparency and identify improvement opportunities.
Build strong, collaborative relationships with contractor groups and internal stakeholders.
Professional and Personal Competencies/Qualifications
Previous experience in a similar role with strong knowledge of M&E disciplines and relevant statutory requirements.
IOSH Managing Safely and NEBOSH General or Construction Certificate (or working towards).
Proven experience managing contractors from both operational and safety perspectives.
Ability to build positive relationships with internal stakeholders and contractor groups.
Strong organisational skills and the ability to work effectively in a fast-paced, reactive environment.
Confident communicator able to influence and instil trust.
