Summary

About the RoleWe are looking for a committed and compassionate Recovery Coordinator to join our client's multi‑disciplinary team. This is a rewarding opportunity to support individuals throughout their treatment and recovery journey, reduce drug- and alcohol‑related harm, and help people build meaningful, purposeful lives.You will be a key point of contact for service users from the moment they enter the service, coordinating their care, advocating for their needs, and ensuring they have access to the right interventions at the right time.
Location: Southampton, HampshireContract: 5-months (will be reviewed after 5 months and might potentially be extended)Hours: Monday to Friday 37.5 hours per weekSalary: £18/hr PAYE or £21/hr Umbrella
Key ResponsibilitiesAct as the organisation's Drug Testing on Arrest (DToA) operational coordinator within police custody settings.Maintain professional communication between the service and the police.Conduct DToA assessments in custody, making referrals and providing support in line with core responsibilities.Coordinate and complete required assessments and documentation.Offer Naloxone and needle‑exchange provision where appropriate.Conduct triage assessments and make appropriate referrals to treatment and community support agencies.Promote recovery, resilience, peer support, and self‑determination.Liaise with health services, hospitals, GPs, partner agencies, families about a wider care plan.Provide health education on harm minimisation, blood‑borne viruses, and overdose prevention.
What skills and experience you need to have:Experience in substance misuse, social care, criminal justice services is a must.Empathetic and resilient individual who is passionate about supporting people affected by substance use.Confident working collaboratively with a wide range of partners.Able to manage risk, maintain accurate records, and coordinate complex care pathways.Comfortable working in fast‑paced environments, including police custody settings.
