What will you be doing?

  • To deliver a professional, high-quality HR coordination service for the Eastleigh campus, acting as a first point of contact to support the day-to-day activities of the team, ensuring policy and best practice are followed and providing strong generalist administrative support.   
  • Delivering the following for the campus and cross college divisions: 
  • Coordinating and facilitating new starter inductions. 
  • Processing onboarding checks for new starters. 
  • Project support as required. 
  • Assisting with People and Culture data reporting. 
  • Attending and note taking People and Culture ER meetings where required. 
  • Administrative support for the preparation of information or formatting of HR materials (e.g. policies, letters of offer, T&C change correspondence etc)
  • Working on own initiative to manage and respond to HR enquiries; providing first-line policy and procedure guidance to managers and colleagues. Escalating complex enquiries to the HR Business Partner/HR Manager where appropriate.   
  • Implement policies and procedures that ensure the quality and sustainability of SHGC shared services, supporting change initiatives. 

Skills/Experience we are looking for:

  • Experience of providing a high standard and inclusive of customer service.
  • Experience of working in a collaborative HR support role or equivalent experience in an administrative support role.
  • Experience of working within a Human Resources team or equivalent business environment (desirable).
  • A knowledge of employment legislation (desirable).
  • Experience in working with HR information systems (desirable) or holds aspiration to learn.
  • A good working knowledge of Microsoft office packages particularly Outlook, Teams, Word and Excel.

Qualifications that will benefit you in the role:

  • Minimum GCSE grade 4 / C in English & Maths or equivalent.
  • CIPD level 3 qualification (desirable) - attained, working towards or aspirational to gain.
  • Relevant professional qualification to Human Resources and/or Business administration (desirable).
