Location: Stanton-by-Dale, near Nottingham
Contract type: Permanent, full‑time (37.5 hrs/week)
Salary: £ 35,000 to £45,000 (depending on AM production experience)

Metron Advanced Equipment works with some of the world’s leading bicycle, motorsport, medical and aerospace customers. We are recognised as pioneers in metal Additive Manufacturing, producing high performance components in titanium and Scalmalloy using both Laser and EBM technologies.
As we expand our AM production capability, we are looking for a practical, curious and hands on Manufacturing Engineer to join our small, innovative team.

The Role
This is a varied, technical position combining manufacturing engineering, quality control and AM build preparation. Experience in Additive Manufacturing is an advantage, but full training will be provided for the right candidate with strong manufacturing fundamentals.
You will take ownership of production processes, quality standards and day to day AM operations, with occasional involvement in engineering design work (up to 25%).

Key Responsibilities
Production & Scheduling
• Plan and maintain production schedules
• Prepare builds for AM machines (Laser & EBM)
• Monitor production processes and adjust schedules as required
• Ensure customer orders are delivered on time, to budget and to specification

Quality & Standards
• Set and maintain quality standards (AS9100)
• Implement and monitor quality control programmes
• Analyse data and produce reports for management and customers

Equipment & Operations
• Maintain and arrange maintenance of equipment
• Manage stock levels and order required resources
• Ensure health & safety guidelines are always followed
• Support hands on production tasks when required, including component finishing

Cross Functional Collaboration
• Work closely with design, production, suppliers and customers
• Contribute to engineering discussions and problem‑solving activities

Essential Requirements
• BEng in Manufacturing, Mechanical or similar engineering discipline (2:1 or above)
• Minimum 1–2 years’ experience in a manufacturing, quality or production engineering environment
• Strong 3D CAD skills (Rhinoceros, SolidWorks or similar) and 2D drawing capability
• Good understanding of manufacturing processes and quality principles
• Excellent Communicator (verbal and written)
• Full right to work in the UK (no sponsorship available)

Desirable Experience:
(Training provided for all the below)
• ARCAM or EOS AM system
• Magics by Materialise
• Metal powder-bed AM processes
