We are looking for an HCPC registered dietitian with experience of working within the specialism of Surgery and Gastroenterology.

The post holder based at West Middlesex hospital will have an inpatient caseload of patients on the gastro-intestinal surgical and respiratory ward as well as being involved in the gastroenterology outpatient clinic service.

The post will also cover the parenteral nutrition rota as well as provide cover for other dietitians in the team during periods on annual leave and sickness


The post holder will cover both the gastrointestinal surgical and respiratory inpatient ward.
The post holder will support the dietetic gastroenterology outpatient service.

The specialist dietitian will be integral to promoting a high quality service to individuals under their care and ensure that the services provided promote respect, dignity and equality for all people.

Working across the clinical support division, the post holder will be responsible for providing professional development to the dietitians and support worker teams across the clinical areas.

The post holder will develop, implement and evaluate policies, guidelines and protocols for the management of patients attending the clinical area in conjunction with the specialist MDT teams.

The post will be based at the West Middlesex university site , though there may be occasions where you will be asked to go to the Chelsea and Westminster site for cover or meetings etc.

The post holder will work as an integral member of the multidisciplinary teams, providing a specialist clinical dietetic service to patients on our respiratory and gastrointestinal surgical wards.

The post holder will support the dietetic gastroenterology outpatient service.

To be professionally and legally responsible for all aspects of work, including the management of patients in your care.

To be able to carry and prioritise your own designated clinical caseload, working as an autonomous practitioner without direct supervision. To monitor caseloads of other staff when deputising for the Band 7 during short periods of leave.

To take responsibility for certain patient conditions or clinical areas, as delegated by the Band 7, and to develop specialised assessment and treatment skills in these areas with support from the Band 7 and peers.
