UK Power Networks Services is recruiting a skilled Operational Engineer to help deliver high‑profile construction and maintenance projects across private and DNO networks. If you thrive in a hands‑on engineering environment, enjoy problem‑solving, and want to play a key role in maintaining critical infrastructure, this is the role for you.
What you'll do:
- Lead and support construction & maintenance activities from 11/33kV down to LV systems
- Work closely with Engineers, Technicians, Apprentices and Contractors
- Oversee substation & cabling projects with a focus on safety and efficiency
- Troubleshoot faults, commission systems, and ensure compliance with safety rules
- Coordinate daily works, manage contractors, and drive continuous improvement
- Represent UKPNS in client and contractor meetings
What you'll bring:
- Authorised Person status up to 11kV
- ONC (or equivalent) in Electrical Engineering
- Strong understanding of HV distribution systems
- Excellent planning, analytical and problem‑solving skills
- Ability to read and interpret technical drawings
- Full UK driving licence
Bonus points for:
HNC Electrical Engineering, NEBOSH, AP up to 33kV, and knowledge of CDM Regulations.
