Are you ready to power the future? UK Power Networks Services is recruiting a skilled Operational Engineer to help deliver high‑profile construction and maintenance projects across private and DNO networks. If you thrive in a hands‑on engineering environment, enjoy problem‑solving, and want to play a key role in maintaining critical infrastructure, this is the role for you.

What you'll do:

  • Lead and support construction & maintenance activities from 11/33kV down to LV systems
  • Work closely with Engineers, Technicians, Apprentices and Contractors
  • Oversee substation & cabling projects with a focus on safety and efficiency
  • Troubleshoot faults, commission systems, and ensure compliance with safety rules
  • Coordinate daily works, manage contractors, and drive continuous improvement
  • Represent UKPNS in client and contractor meetings

What you'll bring:

  • Authorised Person status up to 11kV
  • ONC (or equivalent) in Electrical Engineering
  • Strong understanding of HV distribution systems
  • Excellent planning, analytical and problem‑solving skills
  • Ability to read and interpret technical drawings
  • Full UK driving licence

Bonus points for:
HNC Electrical Engineering, NEBOSH, AP up to 33kV, and knowledge of CDM Regulations.
