Telent's Network Services team are now looking for an addition into their ICT team due to wins of new contracts and services with our Blue Light customers. We are looking for a Senior ICT Engineer who has a passion for 2nd Line troubleshooting, for a range of ICT related technologies. This is a Hybrid / Flexible Working role that will see you work from home, travel to Telent offices when required and travel to our customer sites if or when needed. A full UK driving license and flexibility to travel is highly essential.

This Senior ICT Engineer role is a technical role hat plays an integral part in ensuring the stability and efficient operation of our blue light emergency services customer's ICT environment and requirements. You will have the opportunity to undertake complex technical work on infrastructure and systems on a BAU basis, as well as being involved with the implementation of new projects and technologies.
Working as part of an engineering team, you will be responsible for dealing with day-to-day ICT support activities including significant and complex technical work on ICT infrastructure and systems in support of operational requirements as well as in the implementation of new projects and technologies including, design, development, testing and deploying new technologies, ensuring projects are delivered on time.
What you'll do:
- Provide 2nd line ICT support for a range of ICT / hardware, applications, networks and systems
- Design, test, implement new systems and technologies in a timely manner
- Create and maintain documentation as it relates to system configuration, mapping and processes
- Liaise with third party suppliers to ensure resolution to agreed SLA's and standards
- Infrastructure life cycle management and capacity planning
- Following a period of training and assessment, form part of the 24x7 duty rota (1 wee in every 4 weeks)
- Work within the framework and guidelines of ITIL processes and policies, ensuring alignment to best practice
Who you are:
You are a technically strong, customer-focused ICT professional with proven 2nd line support experience in complex environments. You thrive under pressure, enjoy solving technical challenges, and take ownership of issues through to resolution. You can work independently while collaborating effectively within a team. You demonstrate clear communication skills, strong documentation standards, and a commitment to service excellence. Experience within emergency services or other mission-critical environments is highly desirable. Relevant certifications (Microsoft, ITIL or equivalent) are advantageous.
Key requirements:
- Windows Operating Systems / Active Directory Administration
- Microsoft security patching deployment to endpoints and Servers
- Understanding of IT Infrastructure and Networking principles
- Strong troubleshooting, problem solving and technical skills
- Experience of working in a busy environment, ability to work under pressure and to tight deadlines
- Good verbal and written communications
- Problem solving skills
- Ability to work independently or as an integral part of a team
- Security Cleared to NPPV3 & SC Level (able to obtain OR already obtained)
- Clean UK Driving License
- Computer Aided Despatch (CAD) Systems knowledge and administration
- Integrated Communication Control System (ICCS) Systems Knowledge and Administration
- Fire Station End / GD92 / Mobile Data Terminal support
- Azure and Office 365
- Backup and DR Solutions
- Manage Engine experience
- Microsoft SCCM, InTune and Mobile Device Management
- Experience of working within a service level driven environment
