We’re looking for a skilled Mechanical Fitter to join a growing engineering team building bespoke automation and conveyor systems.
This isn’t repetitive production-line work. You’ll be assembling well-designed, custom-built machinery from detailed drawings — taking real ownership of your work and seeing projects through from workshop build to on-site installation.
With paid overtime, early Friday finishes, and international travel opportunities, this role offers variety, responsibility, and long-term stability.
What You’ll Be Doing

Mechanical assembly of bespoke automation and conveyor systems

Fitting frames, guards, bearings, shafts, drives and precision components

Building medium-sized assemblies and sub-assemblies

Installing and setting up pneumatic systems (valves, cylinders, actuators, airlines)

Working confidently from mechanical engineering drawings

Mechanical fault-finding, alignment and final adjustments

Supporting installations at customer sites in the UK and overseas
-
Carrying out basic electrical tasks where required (e.g. mounting sensors, routing cables)

Maintaining high standards of safety, accuracy, and workmanship
The Ideal Candidate
-
Time-served or experienced Mechanical Fitter / Mechanical Assembler
-
3+ years’ experience building industrial machinery, automation equipment, or conveyors

Confident using hand and power tools
-
Strong ability to read and interpret mechanical drawings
-
Pneumatics experience is advantageous
-
Able to work independently and as part of a team

Takes pride in producing high-quality work
Travel & Working Pattern

Based in Cheltenham
-
Travel approximately 30–40% of the time
-
Around 6 trips per year
-
Typically up to 2 weeks away at a time

UK and international projects including USA and Canada
All travel includes hotel accommodation, daily allowance, and overtime pay.
