Crynodeb
A personal assistant is required to support a seven-year-old autistic girl with a learning
disability living in Redruth.
She is non-verbal and she would like someone with whom she can build a positive
relationship and who can provide 1:1 support in the home and in the community, enabling
her to explore and thrive. The role focuses on helping her develop independence and
engage in activities that encourage new skills and social interaction.
She experiences some anxiety around new people and places, so anyone supporting her
will need to take the time to build a relationship.
This is a rewarding opportunity to support a young person in expanding her world, building
confidence, and gaining greater independence — while making a meaningful difference in
her life.
Pay: Starting at £13.00 per hour, with potential for increase based on skills and
experience.
Hours: 4 hours per week, with flexible scheduling to suit the candidate’s availability.
Requirements:
• Experience or knowledge of working with young people with special educational
needs.
• A full driving licence.
The successful applicant will be employed under a private arrangement with the family,
and not be employed or carry out work for Cornwall Council.
We are committed to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children and young
people. All offers of employment will be subject to the successful candidate undertaking an
enhanced DBS check, the administration process will be undertaken by Cornwall Council.
If you would like to apply for this role, please send your CV. Alternatively, you can request
an application form.
Your CV or application form will be passed onto the family for their consideration. Due to
the high number of applicants that are received for various roles, it is not possible to
inform applicants if they have been unsuccessful.
Please apply by emailing a copy of your CV and quoting the reference code RBDP/6001 to:
