Deerwood Sanctuary is a warm, traditional care home in Brierley Hill. We are looking for a reliable Kitchen Assistant to support the smooth running of our kitchen and help provide nutritious, well‑presented meals for our residents.
Responsibilities
- Assisting with basic food preparation under the direction of the Cook
- Serving meals and supporting mealtime routines
- Washing up, cleaning kitchen equipment, and maintaining hygiene standards
- Keeping food storage areas clean, organised, and compliant with food‑safety guidelines
- Following cleaning schedules and infection‑control procedures
- Supporting the Cook and wider team to maintain a calm, homely dining environment
Requirements
- Good hygiene awareness and willingness to follow food‑safety procedures
- Reliable, organised, and able to work in a busy kitchen
- Friendly, respectful approach when working around residents
- Ability to work as part of a team
- Experience in a kitchen or care setting is helpful but not essential; training provided
