We do what we sayand we’re keen to hear from people like you who make it their business to get things done!

We have an opportunity for a Site Manager to join our high-performing team delivering projects for our client, UK Power Networks. Working on complex and safety-critical infrastructure, where your leadership will directly influence successful project delivery from planning through to completion.

You will play a key part in the safe delivery of high voltage infrastructure schemes, including substation works and HV cable installation routes that support essential power networks.

Here are some of the activities you will be involved in…

  • Coordinating site operations alongside the Construction Project Manager to ensure works are delivered safely, efficiently and in full compliance
  • Overseeing day-to-day activities for both direct labour and subcontractor packages
  • Liaising with UKPN SAPs and Local Authorities to secure and manage permits in advance of works commencing
  • Applying CDM regulations and maintaining full adherence to Health, Safety, Environmental and Quality standards
  • Preparing, reviewing and issuing RAMS, permits and associated site documentation
  • Delivering inductions, conducting HSEQ inspections and maintaining ongoing safety oversight
  • Planning and coordinating traffic management requirements in line with approved arrangements
  • Implementing and adapting Inspection and Test Plans for permanent works, ensuring robust quality evidence is captured
  • Maintaining Health and Safety Files and ensuring accurate completion of as-built and quality records
  • Managing plant, labour and material requirements, including hire and off-hire processes
  • Keeping comprehensive site records, tracking compensation events and escalating cost or scope variations
  • Working closely with commercial, operational and client teams to maintain programme commitments

We would love to hear from you if…

You have substantial experience within DNO or utilities environments, particularly on projects involving substations or HV cable installation routes. You will understand the safety, technical and compliance standards required when delivering high voltage infrastructure and be confident leading teams in live operational settings.

A strong background in Streetworks projects is essential, including a thorough understanding of permitting processes, statutory notice periods and liaison with Local Authority representatives. You will be experienced in coordinating resources, subcontractors and supply chain partners while maintaining programme objectives.

You will demonstrate commercial awareness when managing change events, costs and forecasting, with experience operating under NEC3 or NEC4 contracts. The ability to manage site documentation, quality processes and client reporting to a high standard is critical.

Strong communication skills are key, as you will regularly engage with clients, operational colleagues and external stakeholders. You will also hold SMSTS or SSSTS certification, Streetworks (NRSWA) Supervisor accreditation and a recognised health and safety qualification such as IOSH. A full UK driving licence is required.
