Two Full-time Floating Support Workers to join our Floating Support Service in Newport. You will predominantly work office hours although flexibility is required to meet the needs of our customers.
About the role
This is a Floating Support worker role based in Newport. You will provide housing-related support to people who are struggling to maintain their tenancy, are at risk of homelessness, or are currently experiencing homelessness. You will work with individuals from a variety of backgrounds, providing tailored support to help them overcome challenges and achieve their goals. The aim is to prevent homelessness and empower people to manage their homes independently.
Day to day duties:
Visit customers, offering information, advice, and practical help at every stage of their resettlement.
Work closely with other agencies and professionals to ensure customers’ support needs are met.
Completing administrative tasks, including risk assessments, needs assessments, and support plans.
Monitoring customer outcomes in line with HSG requirements
Skills and Experience Needed:
Relevant work experience and knowledge of issues relating to vulnerable people
A passion to work with and enable people to live as independent a life as possible
An enthusiasm and passion for making a difference to people’s lives
A strong initiative and ability to work alone as well as being a great team player
Ability to deal with conflicting and difficult situations
Driving licence and access to a car

Salary: £24,531.00 FTE (£12.75 per hour)
Location: Newport
Work pattern: Monday - Friday office hours
26 days holiday, pro rata entitlement plus Bank holidays. Rising to 27 days after 1 years service or cash equivalent of 1 days’ annual leave.
Sick Pay, rising with length of service up to 6 months full pay after 4 years.
Mileage paid at 45p plus 5P per passenger per mile - It is essential that you hold a driving licence and have access to a car.
