Job Role: Support Worker – Women’s Refuge – Maternity Cover

Salary: £25,685 per year

Hours: 37.5 hours per week

Contract type: Fixed term contract – 12-month maternity cover

Location: Weymouth

Additional information:

Flexible rota-based working, between the hours of 8:00 AM and 10:00 PM, including some weekends.

Participation in an on-call out-of-hours rota.

About the Role:

We’re looking for a Support Worker to join our incredible Haven project — a warm and welcoming 6-bed refuge in the Weymouth area. Haven provides a safe space for women who have experienced rough sleeping and are facing complex challenges such as mental health issues, substance misuse, and domestic abuse.

Our dedicated team is available 24/7, offering tailored support to help women rebuild their lives and move towards independence. As a Support Worker, you’ll be a key part of that journey.

What you’ll be doing:

Providing practical and emotion support to complex and vulnerable women in accordance to policies and procedures.

Conduct regular key work sessions on a regular basis, ensuring records are kept up to date.

Develop individual support and risk management plans for each of the residents.
Work in partnership with other agencies and to advocate for clients to ensure their needs are met.

Experience working with people who may have complex needs and/or challenging behaviours.

Knowledge of the support needs and support planning for planning for people with complex needs.
