Central Recruitment is working with a prominent national homelessness charity, whose work includes supporting and accommodating young people.

Our client is recruiting a Business Support Officer in Southwark to provide efficient office management, administrative and operational support to the delivery service.

• 37.5 hours per week
• Monday - Friday
• Shift: 09:00 - 17:00
• Temporary: approximately 3 months
• £17.73 per hour (£15.41 per hour, with £2.32 holiday pay)

Please note: this role will be based at the Head Office in Southwark and may require some travel within London.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:

• Act as Office Manager to our Head Office
• Liaise with landlords, contractors and suppliers alongside the Senior Health and Safety Officer
• Maintain Health and Safety records, support risk assessment reviews, coordinate fire drills and assist with audits
• Oversee building operations, room bookings and meeting/training setup
• Welcome and support external trainers and visitors
• Manage the Head Office credit card and petty cash reconciliation
• Oversee incoming and outgoing post
• Maintain a tidy, welcoming office environment
• Provide administrative support across the London/Southeast region
• Support the Area Director with meetings, travel, purchase orders and supplies
• Collate lone working device reports with senior colleagues
• Support facilities, utilities and Health and Safety Committee administration

WHAT WE’RE LOOKING FOR:

• Intermediate/Advanced Microsoft 365 skills (Word, Outlook, Excel)
• Experience managing office operations, contracts and supplies
• Ability to coordinate events and manage time-sensitive projects
• Experience in a busy, safety-focused office environment
• Understanding of safeguarding procedures
• Strong communication skills with a proactive, organised approach
• Ability to prioritise and work independently
• Accurate use of organisational systems
• Effective team collaboration

FURTHER REQUIREMENTS:

In order to register with Central Recruitment Services for temporary agency work, candidates must meet the following criteria:
• Current valid right to work in the UK
• Minimum 12 months’ of paid experience in a front line social care role within the last 3 years* (unless recruitment criteria states otherwise)
• A fully enhanced DBS either registered on the DBS update service or issued within the last 12 months, or willingness to apply for one through Central (at a cost of £60)
• Employment or education history to cover the last 5 years which can be verified through the referencing process
