The Maritime and Coastguard Agency (MCA) is seeking a Senior Business Analyst to join its Information Technology Directorate, a team dedicated to delivering world‑class digital services that support the organisation’s critical mission. Within this directorate, the IT Delivery Management function oversees the direction and governance of digital portfolios, programmes, and projects, ensuring value for money and alignment with government priorities.
You will become part of the Business Analysis team, a highly collaborative group providing vital analytical insight to inform evidence‑based decision‑making. The team works across people, processes, data, and technology to understand business needs, shape opportunities, and define the requirements that enable successful service design and transformation. As a senior member, you will contribute to complex, high‑impact projects while helping to strengthen the business analysis community through best‑practice sharing and mentoring

As a Senior Business Analyst, you will lead complex analytical work to understand business problems, define user and organisational needs, and shape effective digital and process‑based solutions. You will manage stakeholder relationships, identify opportunities for improvement, and use data‑driven insights to guide decision‑making and prioritisation. You will also support the development of the business analysis community by sharing best practice and mentoring others
Your responsibilities will include, but aren’t limited to:
