Are you looking for an exciting and unique opportunity to develop your HR career?
Our HR Advisory Team currently have a great opportunity to join them as a HR Advisor. Our Advisory Team are part of the HR service at NYC primarily providing an HR enquiry service via phone and email and HR casework support to all of the five directorates within North Yorkshire Council plus a number of external customers. The team also undertake a number of other activities including delivering manager skills sessions around key elements of our HR policies and support our HR Business Partner Teams in delivering restructures and service change.
We are a busy front facing team based at County Hall in Northallerton but work in a hybrid way with opportunities to also work from home and/or other council offices as appropriate. The ability to travel across the county to deliver our service when required is however essential.
The HR Advisor role is varied, challenging and rewarding giving you the opportunity to further develop your existing HR skills within a fast paced but highly supportive team.
Key roles and responsibilities:
Provide advice and guidance on a range of employment related issues, terms and conditions, policies and procedure.
Manage and effectively deliver a caseload of various key HR processes - including Disciplinary, Resolving Issues at Work (Grievance Procedure), Capability and Probation cases. Offering informed and considered advice to managers to ensure the most productive case outcomes are achieved.
Developing and maintaining effective relationships with managers, staff, stakeholders (in and outside of NYC) and HR colleagues to ensure service delivery.
Delivering Manager Skills Sessions on key HR processes, to coach and support managers in managing these processes independently within their teams.
