We are looking to recruit a temporary Finance Officer to join our Finance & Procurement service.

About the role

To support the Finance Manager and the Assistant Finance Manager in carrying out their responsibilities to provide an accurate and timely financial service. Including assisting with the preparation of detailed budgets, monitoring reports and final accounts, and raising and receipting Purchase Orders on the Authority’s Purchasing system

About the candidate

The successful candidate will have a high level of interpersonal skills combined with the ability to communicate effectively with a wide variety of internal & external contacts including dealing with external organisations and members of the public on a regular basis. The ability to multitask, and to prioritise conflicting workloads and work to deadlines is essential, as is the ability to carry out tasks with a high degree of accuracy, attention to detail and professionalism with minimum supervision. You’ll be expected to work individually, and as part of a team. The ability to be methodical and to demonstrate initiative to make decisions accordingly, and good Communication skills, both oral and written is needed. Intermediate skills in the use of Microsoft Excel software to be able to create comprehensive spreadsheets thus making the service more efficient in their work with regards monitoring and reconciliation.

Due to the requirements of the role the successful candidate must have a level of Welsh fluency on appointment. Please see the person specification for the further details.
