About the Role
We are working with a supportive secondary school in Northamptonshire seeking a passionate and skilled Design & Technology Teacher to join their team. This is an excellent opportunity for an engaging practitioner who can inspire creativity, problem‑solving and innovation across KS3 and KS4.
You will have the opportunity to deliver a range of DT specialisms-whether your strengths lie in Product Design, Resistant Materials, Engineering, Graphics, Textiles, or Food Technology. The department is well‑resourced, and the school is committed to continuous improvement and staff development.
Responsibilities
- Plan and deliver high‑quality DT lessons across KS3-KS4.
- Create a safe, stimulating, and practical learning environment.
- Assess, track and provide constructive feedback to support pupil progress.
- Contribute to curriculum development and departmental initiatives.
- Maintain health & safety standards within workshops or practical areas.
- Take part in wider school life, including CPD and extracurricular activities.
Requirements
- Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) or ECT welcomed.
- Specialism in any DT discipline (Resistant Materials, Product Design, Engineering, Textiles, or Food).
- Strong classroom management and ability to inspire learners.
- Passion for hands‑on, creative teaching and learning.
- Enhanced DBS (or willingness to apply).
