The RoleWe are recruiting a Technician to work in our Design and Technology Department. The Design Technology Department is a thriving, dynamic, and supportive team in which to work. We currently offer KS4 Product Design, Textiles, and Hospitality and Catering, as well as Product Design and Textiles at KS5. Our KS3 curriculum covers all aspects of paper and board, coding, textiles, electronics, metals, timbers, and food, therefore providing a forward thinking, modern, and exciting approach. The school is committed to creative subjects as part of its Christian vision. We are also committed to gender equality within the field of DT. The department is well resourced with specialist rooms.

The successful candidate will work 30 hours per week, term time only, including 5 INSET days (39 weeks per annum). The salary range is Bristol Grade 8 (BG8), which is currently equivalent to £29,064, rising to £31,022 per annum (gross per annum paid pro rata plus holiday pay). This will be prorated according to working hours and working weeks per annum. The contract is permanent and is subject to a 6-month probationary period. SMRT is committed to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children, and so safeguarding checks will be undertaken as part of the recruitment and selection process. This post is exempt from the Rehabilitation of Offenders Act 1974 and the successful applicant will be expected to undertake an enhanced Criminal Disclosure.
