Applications are invited for the post of ST1-2 equivalent Junior Clinical Fellow in Obstetrics & Gynaecology at the Leeds Teaching Hospitals NHS Trust. The Department undertakes the full range of obstetric and gynaecological care across four sites (Leeds General Infirmary, St Jamess University Hospital, Seacroft Hospital and Wharfedale Hospital). The post is available for six months with the possibility of extension. The post has been established to allow first on call level doctors to develop and advance their clinical skills and competencies. The successful applicant will be participating on the first on call rota at Leeds General Infirmary & St Jamess University Hospital. They will have the opportunity to learn about and participate in delivery of elective and acute gynaecological and obstetric care including; general gynaecology clinics, ambulatory gynaecology, acute gynaecology and early pregnancy, gynaecology ward cover, elective gynaecology operating, labour ward, antenatal clinics, obstetric ward cover, maternity assessment centre and antenatal day unit cover. There will be an opportunity to attend specialist obstetric and gynaecology clinics. Whilst this is not a training post, our department strives to maintain a balance between training and clinical commitments. The large volume of complex patients seen ensures that the post holder will get exposure to a wide variety of clinical conditions in Leeds. There will also be an opportunity to participate in departmental teaching and quality assurance and quality improvement initiatives.
