Crynodeb

We are seeking a dynamic and motivated individual to support and enhance the delivery of high-quality, patient-centred care within our specialist Haematology service at UHD, particularly specialising in Myeloma. This is an exciting opportunity for a nurse with relevant haematology experience to develop their clinical expertise, leadership skills, and make a real impact on patients living with complex myeloma conditions.

As a Clinical Nurse Specialist, you will act as a key member of the multidisciplinary team, providing expert clinical advice, care coordination, and psychological support to patients across inpatient and outpatient settings. This advert is for a permanent position and will be working with teams on both sites when needed.

This post is suitable for either:
• An experienced Band 6 nurse wishing to develop into a CNS role or
• An established Band 7 CNS looking to further their specialist practice

You’ll work closely with haematology consultants, CNS's, advanced nurse practitioners, pharmacy, and allied health professionals to deliver safe, compassionate, and evidence-based care.

Interview Date: 24th March 2026

Depending on banding, responsibilities will include:
• Acting as a key worker for patients across the myeloma pathway
• running nurse led clinics (band 7)
• providing telephone triage and symptom management advice
• supporting patient receiving systemic anti cancer therapy (SACT)
• coordinating MDT discussions and contributing to treatment planning
• delivering patient education and survivorship support
• leading or participating in audit, service improvement and pathway development
• support clinical trails and research
• Delivering specialist nursing care to patients with myeloma
• Supporting patients through the diagnostic pathway, treatment regimens, and survivorship or palliative phases
• Leading on patient education, symptom management, and holistic needs assessments
• Acting as a clinical resource and advocate for patients, families, and staff
• Contributing to service improvement, audit, and the development of care pathways
• Supporting junior staff, student nurses, and the ongoing development of the nursing team

Band 7 applicants will be expected to demonstrate autonomous clinical decision making and leadership within the service
