The Education and Training Department within University Hospitals Dorset is continuing to develop and weare looking for twoexperienced educator to join our innovative and dynamic simulation team as a Simulation Practitioner.
1x 7 month Fixed Term Contract or Secondment opportunity
As a Simulation Practitioner you will work as part of an established and experienced simulationteam including simulationpractitioners, technicians and fellows.
The objective of this role is to plan, deliver, and support others to deliver, high quality simulation-based education (SBE) and transformative simulation (TfS). SBE has a focus on the learning and development of individuals, and this is commonly driven by curriculum requirements such as foundation doctors or student nurse programs. TfS is using simulation to create a change or improvement, and this will mostly be around the transformation work within the Trust.
The Education and Training Department is a large team providing clinical and non-clinical education across all three sites of University Hospitals Dorset. The role will be predominately based at the Royal Bournemouth Hospital site however, cross-site working will be expected. Facilities include state of the art Simulation Suites, with high-fidelity patient simulation mannikins and computer technology, and a Simulation Ward incorporating audio visual technology enabling live streaming to other locations.
We also operate lecture theatres, large clinical skills training rooms, seminar rooms and a dynamic conference room. All our facilities are linked through Microsoft Teams and deliver blended learning opportunities to our users. Training is enhanced using a variety of mannikins, anatomical task trainers and mixed reality headsets.

UHD are investing, developing and transforming Trust services in line with the New Hospital Programme. As part of this, some services may move site this year or next, either temporarily or permanently. Recruiting Managers will be happy to answer any service-specific questions at interview.
If a role or service relocates as part of a planned move, excess mileage will not be reimbursed. Travel from home to the new work base will be classed as a normal commute. Any other changes will be managed under Trust or national terms and conditions.
