Summary
1:1 SEN Teaching Assistant – Preston
Humly is recruiting a SEN Learning Support Assistant to join a primary school on a long-term basis.
This is a part-time role starting ASAP and continuing on an ongoing basis. The working pattern is initially Monday to Friday, 09:00–14:00, with the intention of becoming full-time. This role would suit an experienced and resilient SEN practitioner who is confident providing consistent 1:1 support for a Key Stage 2 pupil and promoting both academic progress and emotional wellbeing.
What You’ll Be Doing
Providing dedicated 1:1 support to a female pupil in Year 3
Implementing structured routines to promote consistency and stability
Using effective de-escalation strategies to manage challenging behaviour
Supporting access to learning across the curriculum
Working closely with the class teacher and SENCO to follow personalised support plans
Promoting positive behaviour, emotional regulation and social development
What You’ll Bring
Previous experience supporting pupils with SEND within a primary setting
Strong behaviour management skills and confidence using de-escalation techniques
The ability to establish and maintain clear, consistent routines
A calm, patient and resilient approach
Strong communication skills and the ability to work collaboratively with staff and families
A clear understanding of safeguarding responsibilities within schools
Pay
£14.85 per hour
