About the Role

Teaching Personnel are seeking a dedicated and empathetic Level 3 Qualified Teaching Assistant to provide 1:1 behaviour and emotional regulation support for a Key Stage 3 pupil in a secondary school. This is a fantastic opportunity for someone passionate about supporting young people during a crucial stage of their development, while also gaining valuable experience to strengthen their professional skillset.

About the role
- Provide warm, patient and consistent 1:1 behaviour and emotional regulation support to a Key Stage 3 pupil, helping them feel understood, safe and supported as they navigate both the social and academic demands of secondary school.
- Work closely with the SENCO, pastoral team, subject teachers, parents and external professionals to ensure consistent strategies, celebrate progress and deliver the most effective tailored support across the school day.
- Encourage positive peer interactions, confidence‑building opportunities and social development, helping the young person feel included, valued and proud of their achievements within a busy secondary environment.
- Support subject teachers by adapting tasks, providing reassurance and introducing creative approaches that help the pupil access a range of curriculum areas at a pace that suits their needs.
- Collaborate with a caring, experienced and supportive staff team who believe in holistic development, inclusion and celebrating every success - no matter how small.

What We're Looking For
- Experience in similar roles, such as supporting young people with additional or behavioural needs.
- Understanding of SEMH profiles and the challenges pupils may face in secondary settings.
- Level 3 Teaching Assistant qualification or equivalent (Desirable).
- A patient, consistent and youth‑centred approach.
- Enhanced DBS on the update service.

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
