About the role
As our Health & Safety Advisor, you will help make sure we meet all health and safety laws and keep our people, customers and contractors safe. You will cover the Kent and Sussex area, working closely with managers and contractors to make sure health and safety is planned properly and managed well on site. You will also work closely with the other Health & Safety Advisor to provide cover and support each other when needed.
You will carry out site inspections and audits across construction projects, repairs, high-rise buildings and offices. When you spot risks or issues, you will work with the relevant teams to make sure they are put right quickly. You will check risk assessments and method statements, and make sure contractors are meeting their health and safety responsibilities.
You will investigate accidents, incidents and near misses, identify the root cause, and recommend actions to stop them happening again. You will also produce reports on contractor performance and provide assurance that standards are being met. From time to time, you will support or deputise for the Head of Health, Safety & Facilities Management and help promote a strong, positive health and safety culture across the organisation.
