Neway International are seeking an Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP) Tester to join our client based with Liverpool City Council.

Location: Cunard Building, Water Street, Pier Head, Liverpool, Merseyside, L2 2BS
Hours: 35 per week
Start Date: 01 April 2026
Duration: 35 Weeks

Rate: PAYE: £19.40 per hour Umbrella/Ltd: £25.38 per hour

Work Pattern: 2 days in the central office, 3 days remote

About the Client
Liverpool City Council’s Strategy & Change directorate leads major transformation programmes across ICT & Digital. The ERP Programme is a significant organisational change initiative, modernising HR, Payroll, Finance and Procurement systems to improve efficiency, accuracy and service delivery across the council.

The Role
As an ERP Tester, you will be responsible for delivering all council‑owned testing across HR, Payroll, Finance and Procurement workstreams within the ERP Programme. You will work closely with functional teams and the System Implementation (SI) partner to develop test scripts, execute testing phases and ensure defects are identified, tracked and resolved. This role is critical to ensuring the successful delivery of a high‑quality ERP solution.

Key Responsibilities
Contribute to the overall testing strategy, ensuring coverage of critical business processes and integration points

Develop detailed test scripts aligned with business requirements

Execute tests in line with approved scripts across multiple ERP modules

Identify, log and track defects through to resolution, collaborating with LCC and SI teams

Support resource coordination during UAT to ensure successful delivery

Maintain comprehensive documentation including test plans, scripts, results and defect reports

Provide regular progress updates to project stakeholders

Deliver non‑functional testing including performance, security and accessibility testing

Work on a hybrid basis: 2 days in the office, 3 days remote

Candidate Requirements
Proven experience in ERP testing across HR, Payroll, Finance or Procurement modules

Strong understanding of test planning, script development and execution

Experience in defect management and working with SI partners

Demonstrable experience in non‑functional testing (performance, security, accessibility)

Ability to work collaboratively within a programme environment

Strong documentation and reporting skills

Excellent communication skills and ability to work with multiple stakeholders

Ability to work on‑site 2 days per week as required
