Are you an experienced HR & Recruitment professional with a strong eye for detail and compliance? We’re looking for a skilled professional to join our team and lead our recruitment operations, ensuring a smooth and efficient process for our schools while upholding the highest standards of safer recruitment in education.
About WPT
At Wickersley Partnership Trust (WPT), we are fueled by a single commitment: 'We never knowingly do less for other people’s children than we would for our own.' As a thriving network of schools across South Yorkshire, we combine high expectations with embedded inclusivity. We do not work in silos; instead, we rely on deep collaboration and school-to-school support to ensure every student develops socially, emotionally, and academically to achieve the highest standards.
About the Role
As an HR Officer, you will be part of the Recruitment Team, working closely with the Recruitment Manager to deliver a proactive, high-quality recruitment service to all academies across the Trust. This is a 360-degree recruitment role where you will manage the full lifecycle from drafting compelling adverts to onboarding new starters. You will ensure strict adherence to Safer Recruitment and employment legislation, and you will also manage contractual changes and flexible working requests, acting as a trusted advisor to Senior Leaders.
Responsibilities
Talent Acquisition & Advice: Provide expert guidance to Senior Leaders on recruitment strategies, including market trends, sourcing methods, and the application of national/local conditions of service.
End-to-End Vacancy Management: Lead the project management of the recruitment lifecycle, from drafting compelling job descriptions and adverts to coordinating interview panels and liaising with external agencies.
Safer Recruitment & Onboarding: Work with the Recruitment Team and Safeguarding Manager to maintain the Single Central Record (SCR), ensuring all pre-employment checks, references, and DBS clearances are completed with 100% accuracy.
Candidate Experience: Act as the primary point of contact for candidates, ensuring a professional and engaging experience that promotes the Trust as an "Employer of Choice."
Flexible Working: Manage and respond to flexible working requests in accordance with the Trust’s policy, attend consultation meetings, and liaise with Line Managers to ensure best practice is followed.
Selection & Compliance: Provide professional support during the selection process, ensuring all panels follow best practices in job evaluation, equal pay, and objective assessment.
Data & Reporting: Produce timely reports on recruitment metrics, including time-to-hire, cost-per-hire, and diversity data to support Gender Pay Gap reporting and strategic planning.
Training & Development: Facilitate training for academy leadership teams on effective interviewing techniques, unconscious bias, and safer recruitment protocols.
Trust Integration: Assist the Recruitment Manager with recruitment-related aspects of TUPE and the onboarding of staff during school transfers into the Trust.
Contractual Changes: Process all contract changes, including secondments, changes of work pattern, and flexible working request approvals.
