Contract Type: Full Time, Term-time only
Daily Rate: £120.00 - £140.00 per day.
Working Hours: 08:30 - 15:30

Prospero Teaching is working in partnership with a specialist Pupil Referral Unit in Blackburn that supports pupils with SEMH needs, often alongside Autism, ADHD, and additional learning needs. The provision offers a structured and supportive environment focused on emotional regulation, positive behaviour management, and re-engaging young people with education.
With small class sizes, strong staff support, and a dedicated multidisciplinary team, the setting provides personalised interventions that prioritise resilience, confidence, independence, and essential life skills alongside academic progress.
About the Role:
As an Internal Cover Supervisor, you will play a key role in maintaining continuity of learning across the provision. Your responsibilities will include:
- Supervising classes during teacher absences, ensuring a calm and purposeful learning environment
* Delivering pre-planned lessons and adapting activities where necessary
* Managing and supporting pupils with challenging behaviour using appropriate strategies
* Promoting positive behaviour, emotional regulation, and engagement
* Supporting students on a 1:1 basis or in small groups when required
* Working closely with teaching staff, pastoral teams, and senior leaders
* Contributing to a safe, structured, and inclusive learning environment
What We're Looking For:
- Proven experience managing challenging behaviour is essential
* Experience working with children or young people with SEMH (desirable)
* Strong behaviour management skills
* Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
* A calm, consistent, and resilient approach
* Confidence leading a classroom independently
* A genuine commitment to inclusion and helping every young person succeed
