Support Worker

Brook Street Social Care is currently recruiting dedicated and compassionate Support Workers to work with children and young people across the North East.

Opportunities are available in:

  • Educational settings, including schools and specialist provisions
  • Children and Adult's residential services

You will be supporting adults and young people with:

  • Trauma backgrounds
  • Emotional and Behavioural Difficulties (EBD)
  • Learning Disabilities (LD)
  • Autism
  • Complex needs

The Role

As a Support Worker, you will:

  • Provide day-to-day care and emotional support
  • Support learning and engagement within educational and residential settings
  • Promote independence and positive behaviour
  • Follow care plans and behaviour strategies
  • Build positive, professional relationships
  • Maintain accurate documentation
  • Safeguard and promote well being at all times

Requirements

  • Minimum 6 months UK care experience
  • Experience supporting adults, children and young people
  • Residential or education experience desirable
  • Ability to work flexible shifts (including evenings and weekends)
  • Strong communication skills
  • NVQ Level 3 in Children & Young People or adults (desirable)
  • Full UK driving licence (desirable)
