Join our Ophthalmology team and play a vital role in delivering outstanding care to our patients.

We are looking for a motivated and organised individual to provide a comprehensive, high-quality administrative service within the Department of Ophthalmology. This is a key position, central to ensuring our clinics run efficiently and that patients receive a seamless, professional experience from referral to follow-up.

The primary focus of the role is the coordination and management of designated clinics. You will take ownership of clinic administration, supporting patient pathways, managing appointments, and ensuring accurate and timely communication with patients and clinical teams.

Working closely with Consultants, managers and the wider multidisciplinary team, you will contribute to the effective management of patient cohorts and clinic capacity. Your work will directly support the delivery of safe, responsive and patient-centred care.

• Establishing, maintaining and monitoring excellent office and information systems directly related to this area and within the hospital
• Ensuring quality and customer care standards are met where relevant
• Contribution to positive patient experiences.
• Provide failsafe support for allocated clinics. Ensuring clinic numbers are maintained at a level that is safe for both patients and staff, including cancelling and rebooking patients where necessary.
• To act as a point of contact for all patients under this pathway and provide excellent customer service at all times.
• Act as a point of escalation to senior and direct line management if any concerns within clinic capacity or patients.
• Ensuring patient pathway run smoothly within the specified area and is not delayed or lost to follow up.
• To provide reception cover if needed
• Applicant may be required to cross site between Western Eye Hospital and Stowe Eye Care Centre
