English Teacher – Flexible short-term and long-term opportunities available immediately
These flexible opportunities are ideal for teachers who enjoy variety and want to make a positive impact across different secondary school settings. You will be supporting pupils in Stowmarket and the surrounding areas, delivering engaging English lessons across a range of year groups.Duties as English Teacher:

• Deliver engaging and well‑structured English lessons using provided plans
• Teach key curriculum areas including literature, language, reading, writing, and comprehension
• Support learners in developing analytical, communication, and critical‑thinking skills
• Manage classroom behaviour effectively in accordance with school policies
• Adapt teaching approaches to meet diverse learning needs
• Assess and record pupil progress when required
• Contribute positively to department activities during longer‑term placements
• Promote a supportive and purposeful learning environment

Ideal English Teacher:

• Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) or equivalent
• Strong knowledge of English language and literature
• Confident classroom and behaviour management skills
• Ability to inspire and motivate learners across different year groups
• Adaptable across varied school environments
• Good organisational and communication skills
• Commitment to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of pupils
