Imperial College Healthcare NHS Trustis seeking an experienced and motivated Band 7 Clinical Nurse Specialist (CNS) to join our highly specialised Functional Neurosurgery Service. This is an exciting opportunity to play a pivotal role within a nationally recognised programme supporting patients undergoing Deep Brain Stimulation (DBS) and MR-guided Focused Ultrasound (MRgFUS) as part of a complex neurosurgical pathway.

As a leading centre for complex neurosurgery, our Functional Neurosurgery programme is at the forefront of clinical innovation, research and multidisciplinary practice. This post offers the opportunity to work within a progressive and forward-thinking service committed to delivering safe, high-quality, patient-centred care while advancing treatment options for patients with complex movement disorders.

The post holder will provide advanced clinical expertise across the patient pathway, including assessment, education, care coordination and long-term follow-up for patients undergoing functional neurosurgical treatments. Working collaboratively within a multidisciplinary team, the CNS will act as a key worker for patients and families, ensuring continuity of care and supporting service development within a world-leading neurosurgical centre.

This is a unique opportunity to contribute to the ongoing development of an innovative service delivering outstanding neurosurgical care within a dynamic academic and clinical environment.
• Act as the named CNS for patients undergoing functional neurosurgical procedures
• Deliver highly specialist nursing care to patients with movement disorders requiring DBS or MRgFUS
• Provide expert advice and act as a key point of contact for patients, carers and the wider MDT
• Coordinate complex care pathways from referral to long-term follow-up
• Support DBS programming clinics and undertake patient education and symptom monitoring
• Work autonomously while maintaining close collaboration with neurosurgeons, neurologists, neurophysiology, radiology and allied health professionals
• Contribute to service development, audit, research and quality improvement initiatives
• Provide education and support to nursing colleagues and MDT staff
• Promote high standards of patient experience and safety within the team
