Desian Education are proud to be supporting a mainstream primary school in Widnes that is at the heart of it’s local community as they are looking to appoint an experienced and dedicated teaching assistant for a long-term full-time contract with an immediate start that will last until the end of the academic year.
This is an extremely exciting opportunity to work in a well-established 3-form entry primary school, with the full support and dedication of an experienced senior leadership team. You will be joining and extremely supportive KS2 team, playing an integral part in the education of pupils across year 3 and year 4 class. You will work in collaboration with class teachers to promote the engagement and focus of your new pupils by utilising an array of learning equipment, promoting inclusion and building strong constructive relationships with pupils. You will lead on intervention support, ensuring that all pupils reach their full academic potential in the AM, and support a small group of pupils with SEN in the PM. Other core duties will include:
• Plan and deliver interventions in core subjects
• 1:1 interventions with ALN and SEN pupils within a separate classroom
• Implementation of positive behaviour strategies within the classroom
• Supporting during break and lunch times
What you need to succeed
To be considered in your application you must have full “Right to Work” in the UK, be willing to undergo an enhanced DBS screening, and:
• Have recent referenceable experience supporting children between the ages of 6 – 11
• Have good knowledge of the KS2 national curriculum
• Have experience with or willing to work with SEN
• Be able to commit to a long-term full-time contract
