Health Care Assistant Location: Hermitage and Moredon Surgeries Line Manager: Site Operations Manager Clinical Supervision: Site Lead Nurse (within the wider Nursing Leadership Team) Hours: Weekdays (to be agreed) Join a Large, Forward-Thinking Primary Care Team Westrop Medical Practice is a well-established, multi-site practice serving nearly 50,000 patients across six locations. We are seeking an experienced and motivated Health Care Assistant to join our clinical team at Hermitage and Moredon Surgeries. This role would suit an HCA who thrives in a structured, team-based environment and is confident working within clear clinical governance frameworks. The Role As a Health Care Assistant at Westrop, you will support the delivery of safe, high-quality care within a busy and well-organised primary care setting. You will: Work alongside GPs, specialist nurses and the wider multidisciplinary team Undertake delegated clinical tasks within agreed competencies Contribute to chronic disease management and preventative care Support infection control and patient safety standards Maintain accurate and timely clinical records Clinical Responsibilities You will undertake and record, within your scope of practice and training: Blood pressure, pulse, temperature, height, weight and BMI Venepuncture ECG recording Urinalysis and specimen preparation Visual acuity testing Vaccinations including influenza, pneumococcal, shingles and B12 (following competency assessment) Chaperoning Supporting patients during nebulisation therapy Assisting in chronic disease monitoring You will also prepare and maintain clinical rooms and equipment to ensure safe and effective care delivery. What Were Looking For We are looking for an HCA who: Has relevant clinical experience (primary care experience desirable) Is confident working within established policies and clinical governance frameworks Understands the importance of professional boundaries and scope of practice Communicates clearly and compassionately with patients and colleagues Is organised and able to manage workload effectively within a busy service Demonstrates a strong commitment to confidentiality, infection control and patient safety Experience working within a larger practice or multi-disciplinary setting would be advantageous.
