The Resettlement and Migration Team Leader will directly manage a team of Casework Support Officers (CWSO) delivering front line support to displaced persons and refugees resettled in Wiltshire. Working closely with other Resettlement and Migration Team Leaders to create a joined up and consistent signposting service, ensuring the council fulfils the requirements as specified by the Home Office and the Ministry of Housing, Communities and Local Government (MHCLG). Resettlement and Migration Team Leaders will oversee the holistic assessment of service users and ensure appropriate referrals to internal and external agencies, ensuring compliance with GDPR. Resettlement and Migration Team Leaders will collaborate closely with Refugee Resettlement and Migration Service Team Managers to ensure a cohesive and consistent approach in delivering a robust service, focusing on the successful support and integration of displaced individuals and through providing advice and information to support effective decision making. Resettlement and Migration Team Leaders will collaborate with Service Development Officers to relay the requirements of service users as documented by the casework team, fostering a feedback loop of continuous improvement. Specific duties and responsibilities include: Providing day to day leadership and line management of caseworkers, ensuring their workloads are managed effectively and efficiently, and resources are allocated according to demand, developing their professional skills and performance and helping them meet their agreed objectives. Utilising Oracle and following HR policies and processes in all aspects of line management, ranging from recruitment, induction, development and performance management. Supervising the work of caseworkers to ensure it is delivered to the required standards, providing regular support, advice and casework supervision meetings and regularly reviewing service users support and integration plans. Ensuring the team work in alignment with casework support officer work plans and identify and implement training and development to meet team needs. Identifying and escalating risks, ensuing team adhere to policies, such as lone working procedures and safeguarding requirements. Resolving intricate and contentious casework issues and escalating to Team Manager as appropriate. Advising and assisting CWSOs in dealing with the variety of resettlement and integration needs of service users to support the delivery of resettlement and dispersal programmes in Wiltshire, working towards integration and independence of the service user. Overseeing the work of the CWSOs in assessing individual and family needs and advising regarding move-on options. Leading on information sharing with authorities on transfer relocations into and out of the county, as directed by the Team Manager. Co-ordinating and managing the volunteer network and ensure all supervision, safeguarding and training requirements are met. Collaborating with the Team Manager to identify areas for service improvement, team capacity and developing ways of working. Maintain a good working knowledge of current issues, statutory council services, voluntary and community services and national relevant support agencies to ensure service users are signposted appropriately. Deputising for the Team Manager when necessary. Specific requirements for this post: Some out of hours working (specifically during arrivals of new refugee families, emergencies or training) Travel to provide casework support across the county. Use of (council provided) technology to provide virtual casework support.
