We are Work with York Limited and are working with our local authority client to find Health Visitors for an immediate start, to work within the Health Child Service team in the York area.

The role will involve working within the community and to be responsible for delivering a holistic service to two young people and their families.

The rate of pay is £22.21 per hour. Part-time, full-time and ad hoc work is available on a temporary basis.

Responsibilities and duties include:

providing an efficient delivery of a universal core service, targeted interventions and public health interventions to children, young people and their families.
planning and delivery of the Healthy Child Programme, under the leadership of the Healthy Child Service Manager, ensuring the best health outcomes for children, young people and families
utilising evidence based practice to promote holistic care of children and young people, from 0-19 years by assessing, implementing and evaluating planned programmes of care, to deliver the best health outcomes.
working as an autonomous practitioner to undertake routine health assessments and ensure that the health needs of any child are recognised and evidence based care is delivered.
supporting children, young people and their families in complex and/or conflicting family situations and taking responsibility for offering appropriate interventions.

You will need:

to be registered Nurse or Midwife on part 1 of the Nursing and Midwifery Council (NMC) register.
hold part 3 NMC registration (Specialist Community Public Health Nurse - Health Visitor).
to be able to work to tight timescales and deal with conflicting demands, priorities and take appropriate action to remedy issues as they arise
a valid driving licence and access to a vehicle for business use
the ability to follow policies and procedures, produce risk assessments and reports and provide handovers.
a flexible and compassionate approach, along with respect for an individual’s need
evidence of continuous professional development.
experience of clinical audit
to be proficient in the use of IT
the ability to produce clear written reports and deliver effectively to a wide audience
the ability to work effectively within a team, but also independently.
knowledge and understanding of Information Governance, professional record keeping requirements, confidentiality and consent
to demonstrate up to date knowledge, skills and competencies within the multi-agency safeguarding are
to demonstrable experience of working with children, young people and families.
strong commitment to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children and young people
a current, valid driving license and access to own vehicle for business purposes.
