We are seeking a dedicated and enthusiastic Commis to join our small and friendly kitchen team. As a Commis, you will play a vital role in supporting the culinary operations of our restaurant, ensuring that high standards of food preparation and safety are maintained. We’ve been established since 2018 and become famous for our Afternoon Teas but are making waves with our pre-theatre meals and lunchtime dining.

Duties
Assist in the preparation and cooking of food items according to the restaurant’s recipes and standards.
Maintain cleanliness and organisation of the kitchen, ensuring all equipment and workstations are kept in top condition.
Adhere to food safety regulations and hygiene standards at all times.
Support senior chefs in food production tasks, including chopping, marinating, and plating dishes.
Participate in inventory management by monitoring stock levels and assisting with ordering supplies as needed.
Collaborate with team members to ensure efficient kitchen operations and timely service delivery.
Engage in continuous learning by taking direction from senior chefs and participating in training sessions.
WHAT YOU'LL BE DOING
Creating and preparing our Afternoon Tea – from designing fillings, to decorating cakes.
Preparing and making our own homemade dishes from scratch.
Coming up with new ideas and recipe suggestions
We encourage our team to work in all areas from prep, to bakery to service.
You'll need to communicate and work together as a team to get the job done.
To prepare for success we start and end the day with a clean kitchen so pride in an organised and clean workplace is paramount
Experience
Previous experience in a kitchen environment is preferred but not essential; a passion for food and hospitality is key.
Knowledge of food safety practices and regulations is highly desirable.
Strong communication skills with the ability to work effectively as part of a team.
Demonstrated leadership potential through previous roles or experiences is beneficial.
A willingness to learn new culinary techniques and contribute creatively to menu development is essential.
